Parad Kristaly Bought For Huf 100M

Latt, a design company which makes glass moulds, has purchased Parad Kristaly, a 300-year-old Hungarian maker of fine crystal, for HUF 100M, according to the 14 December 2006 issue of business weekly HVG. HVG also wrote that the company's property would no longer be used as collateral for HUF 190M in loans from CIB Bank and K+H Bank. According to Latt Studio MD, Tamas Toth, production at the company could restart with new technology and about 50 staff as early as the spring. He also added that Latt would use just three buildings at the company's base in Paradvasar (north-east Hungary), demolishing the other buildings and possibly creating a park. Latt was the only bidder for the company, administrator Matra Holding said in September 2006. It was the fourth time the company had been offered for sale. The guide price for the company was set at HUF 144 million, well under the HUF 318.5 million guide price when the company was first offered for sale in July 2005.
