[Pakistan] Glassmaker Sets Up Press Ware Division

One of the largest flat and toughened safety glass producers in Pakistan, Gunj Glass Works, has announced that it is to extend its activities with the establishment of a press ware plant for the production of tableware and glass blocks. The company, which currently has two glass plants; Gunj Glass Works; and Ali Glass Industries, with a combined production capacity of 200/tpd, is to set up the press ware plant in collaboration with UK supplier Penelectro. In addition, the company's second toughened safety glass line is currently under installation, with a convection toughening furnace using radiant plate matrix heating technology and a PID power module. The new line is expected to begin commercial production from March.
