Pad Printing

Pad printing is an indirect way of printing based on the age-old gravure printing process and originally developed to decorate watch faces. The transfer pad printing method is extremely flexible and adaptable; no other decorative process can be used in such a wide variety of applications; no other process can print on so many different surface types and shapes. Basically, a silicone rubber pad picks up the image from an etched plate and transfers it onto the substrate without altering the surface. As the pad is pressed against the substrate, it adapts to the shape, printing a clear, uninterrupted image. Unlike other techniques, transfer pad printing can be applied onto textured, raised, recessed, cylindrical or other odd-shaped objects.
