Packing A Surprise

This article looks how a booming packaging industry, coupled with rapid economic growth in the past decade have multiplied the consumption of glass packaging and other glass containers in all five Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan; Kyrgystan; Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The drinks, beverage, pharma and food packaging companies are currently import dependent in a deficit market of quality containers with additional cost bearing. They are hailing new investors in glass, particularly in two of the region's largest economies, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
