Oxygen Enhanced Nox Reduction In Furnaces

Glass manufacturers in the USA and Europe are pressured by regulators to reduce NOx emissions. Most air-fired furnaces are able to achieve NOx emission within 800-1000m/Nm3 with primary measures. However, greater NOx reduction may prove difficult to achieve for some furnaces. This article reports how, in collaboration with SIAD, Praxair Inc has developed the Oxygen Enhanced NOx Reduction (OENR) technique to achieve an additional 15-40% NOx reduction in regenerative glass furnaces.
