Oxycombustion: The Problems And Perspectives For Development Of Its Use In Glass Container Production

After a short history of the 100% oxyfired experiences and description of the European situation, this paper analyses the competitiveness of 100% oxyfired furnaces for soda lime glass container furnaces. It compares oxyfired with conventional for NOx emission control, for heat balance and specific energy consumption and concludes that it is necessary to find an efficient way for heat recovery from the oxyfired waste gas.
