Oxy-Fuel Conversion Challenges For Glassmakers

Conversions to 100% oxygen firing of glass melting furnaces are increasing because of the technology's ability to satisfy a number of important operator demands. According to the author, manufacturers are considering converting from traditional melting practices for a variety of reasons, including environmental compliance strategies, improved operating considerations, the need to improve glass quality and incrased production capability.
