Optical Interference System For Controlling Float-Glass Ribbon Thickness At Stages Of Production

A new optical multichannel system controlling float-glass thickness is described. The system is based on the interference principle. Measurements are provided at the input into annealing lehrs. The continual control of the glass ribbon thickness is carried out simultaneously at several points, (up to 10) in real time. Measurement error is 5 micro-m.
