Observing The Transition From Batch To Homogeneous Glass

The optimisation of batch composition and melting conditions traditionally start with laboratory scale trials. In this article the authors explain the combined use of evolved gas analysis and visual observations of the glass melting processes to give a valuable insight to the reactions taking place and how to optimise the making of glass.
