Observation Of Green Upconversion Fluorescence In Er3+ Doped Nb205 Prepared By The Sol-Gel Method

In a crystallized sample of Er3+ doped Nb205 prepared by the sol-gel method, green upconversion fluorescence was observed around 544 nm under 805 nm excitation. Electron spin resonance (ESR) spectra for Er3+ in gels were also measured at 4.2K. The results were briefly discussed on the basis of dispersion of Er3+ ions in the Nb205 gel.
