A Numerical Model For Closure Lining Materials

This paper outlines one key stage in the development of a finite element model for analysis of the ROPP capping process. An initial model that was used to test the suitability of FEA for modelling this process used a linear elastic material property for the line/wadding material. Experimental testing found that liner material was in fact highly nonlinear and so a different material FEA model was found. The initial results compare favourably with those found from experimentation.
