Nippon Sheet Glass Co, is to team up with Pilkington Plc (UK), in marketing and production of automotive glass in China. Nippon Sheet Glass has an automotive glass plant in Tianjin, while Pilkington, which is roughly 20% owned by the Japanese firm, has four plants in Shanghai and three in other Chinese cities. Under their latest partnership, Nippon Sheet Glass will receive orders from Japanese automakers operating in china, and Pilkington will be in charge of US and EU customers. The tow companies will send orders to the nearest plant among their divisions. Production of higher-performance special glass will be handled by the Tianjin plant. Nippon Sheet Glass will supply such products made at the plant to Pilkington. (whole item)
