Nsg To Set Up New Sheet Plant In Vietnam

Nippon Sheet Glass Co has said that it will establish a joint venture in Vietnam to produce sheet glass to meet increasing demand there. With total investment expected at some 10,000m yen, the joint firm, called Vietnam Glass Industries Ltd., will start production by the end of 2006. It will consider exports to other Southeast Asian markets in the future. VGI will be capitalised at around 5,000M yen, of which 70% will be provided by Nippon and 30% by a Vietnamese government-affiliated company. A plant with the output of around 500 tpd, will be constructed in an industrial area some 60km east of Ho Chi Minh City.
