Nox Reduction Potential For Glass Melting Furnaces

Different strategies to reduce NOx formation were developed in a major research programme. The work showed that staged combustion and flameless oxidation reduce NOx emissions substantially. Even at a temperature of as much as 1600 deg C, the NOx reduction potential is conserable, as tests showed. NOx output can also be lowered remarkably in applications where oxygen is used as an oxidant.
