Novel Bioactive Materials Derived From Glasses

Since the discovery of Bioglass by Hench et al in the early 1970's, various kinds of bioactive, i.e. bone-bonding glasses and glass-ceramics with different characteristics have been developed. Some of them are already commercialized as valuable bone-repairing materials.
