North American Standards For The Measurement Of Particulate Emissions

Authorities around the world regulate the emission of particulate mater from glass furnaces, although there is not one standard assessment method or one standard emission regulation. TC 13, the environment committee of the ICG, has concerns about the evolving changes in the measurement of emissions and this is the second article in a series addressing the issue. According to the authors, some authorities require the assessment of different sizes of particulate matter, whole others do not. Another key difference is whether condensable substances are included in the definition of PM, which is often the case in the USA.
