North American Glass Packaging Review

In this article, the USA-based Glass Packaging Institute (GPI) considers prospects and opportunities for the glass container industry. After a five year decline, North American economies are showing modest signs of recovery. In the USA, most major economic indicators, including gross domestic product, new home sales and employment rate, are realising growth at varying degrees. With this small expansion in the overall economy has come a growth in the North American glass market. Total production and shipments are up slightly and market share remains steady. These trends are expected to continue, paving the way for the success witnessed over the past year.
