Noncatalytic Removal Of Nitrogen In A Recuperative Container Glass Furnace

A new installation for the extraction of nitrogen from flue gas has been in successful operation in a recuperative container glass furnace at Vetropack, Switzerland, since November 1992. This Selective Noncatalytic Reduction (SNCR) process functions according to the principles of thermal nitrogen removal. No problems were encountered with the process and first measurement results are excellent.
