Non-Contact Measurement Of Glass Temperatures

The measurement of temperature using radiation pyrometers is very effective in nearly every glassmaking process stage. They allow the monitoring of temperature in products from the thinnest glass to the tank melt with a thickness of many centimetres. In the same way as a camera, the instruments are oriented towards the object to be measured of the measurement point. Part of the radiation energy emitted by a target is measured. The higher the temperature, the higher the intensity of the radiation energy. This article looks at non-contact measurement equipment developed by Heitronics.
