Hexcel Fabrics has launched Screen 2 and Screen Plus, two blinds made from a durable glass yarn which offer solar protection and visual comfort, particularly for work station operators. Screen 2 is a 2-sided blind for "optimum thermal protection and visual comfort". One fabric has two functions, with a white yarn facing outside for thermal efficiency and a grey yarn on the inside for visual comfort at the work station. In the middle of a clear day there is no need to switch on any artificial lighting, says the maker. Screen 2 is available in versions for exterior and interior installation covering three levels of light transmission (3, 5 & 10%).
