Nigerian Float Glass Plant

EGI MJG Float Glass, a joint-venture between EGI Community, Mara Group, JS Group and Ghani Group, announced they will build a US$ 210M float glass manufacturing plant in Nigeria. The production facility in Rivers State will produce 500/tpd float glass. It will cost US$ 110M in the first phase, and US$ 100M in the second expansion phase. Mara Group Director, Prashant Manek said: "Today's groundbreaking is a first step in making Nigeria self-sufficient in terms of glass manufacturing." He said the industry has significant potential in West Africa and could create many jobs.
