New Process Control System Designed By Sa Breweries & Rockwell Automation

SA Breweries (SAB), the world's 5th largest brewer, has recently worked with US automation specialist, Rockwell Automation, to develop a new process control system to ensure that the beer brewed and bottled at plants throughout the world is consistently maintained to precise quality standards. SAB specified a new control system to automate batch control in 4 of its 7 South African breweries. Rockwell developed a process control architecture based on the international open batch control standard ISA S88 which enables SAB to share recipes among different plants electronically. The international standards mean that solutions are fully open and transportable between plants in all countries.
