New Lightweight Glass Container For The Packaging Of Fruit And Vegetable Preserves (In Italian)

The objective was to design a container with a weight lower than those presently used for packaging or tomato, fruit and vegetable juices and pulps as well as strained products. Reference is made in particular to the 720-ml-bottle used for strained tomatoes. A bottle was obtained weighing 275g against the 310g of the bottle currently on the market with the same resistance to axial and transversal loads. Its lower weight, (11.2%) corresponds to a lower environmental impact during manufacture with lower energy consumption, higher processing line capacity and lower emissions and a lower cost.
