New crystal glass not containing lead, arsenic or barium oxides has been developed with a refractive index in the range of 1.520 to 1.545 or higher, and density around 2500-2700 mg.m-3. Melting temperatures are comparable with those of commercial lead crystal glass, the working temperatures are around 20-100 deg C and annealing ranges 80-150 deg C higher than the commercial ones.
