New Decorating Technique Holds Promise In Lip & Rim Area

With regulations pending on stringent lip & rim decorations on tableware, a new glass decorating technology could bring decorated ware back into favour with regulators and environmentalists. RevTech, a division of Revlon Consumer Products Corp., has introduced its Envirogluv decorating system to the tableware decorating sector. The technology involves the application of metallic-like heavy metal-free finishes to the complex contours of glassware, cups, glasses, plates & other ceramic ware having an edge for decoration. The technology has been used commercially in the decoration of cosmetic glass containers for Revlon. "We believe that the use of foils to decorate complex contours is something completely new," explained A J Schlossman, president of RevTech.
