New Cwct Standard

The Centre for Window & Cladding Technology (CWCT) have produced a new standard for systemised building envelopes, which will be available for purchase 1 March. Three former standards: Curtain Walling; Rainscreen & Slope Glazing have been rewritten as a single standard, bringing together the different performance requirements & test methods, & updated to recognise the new BS EN 13830. The standard now comprises a set of 10 documents: Part 1, Scope, Terminology, Testing & Classification; 2, Loads, Fixings & Movement; 3, Air, Water & Wind Resistance; 4, Operable Components, Additional Elements & Means of Access; 5, Thermal, Moisture & Acoustic Performance; 6, Fire Performance; 7, Robustness, Durability, Tolerances & Workmanship; 8, Testing; 0, Specifiers' Checklist & Certification; &, Standard Test Methods for Building Envelopes.
