A New Class Of Infrared Transmitting Glasses: Tellurium Halide Glasses (French)

Tellurium halide glasses transmitting in the far infrared are reviewed. These materials are considerd as ideal for operating at the emission of a CO2 laser. Currently drawn fibres have attenuations comparable to that of the best chalcogenide glass fibres.
