Sklostroj Turnov of the Czech Republic and Glass Technology International of Germany have developed a new technology for glass bottle production called LPBB (light production press-blow) that is claimed to be suitable for use even in factories where narrow neck press-blow (NNPB) requirements cannot be met. This new technique is also claimed to be less expensive and have less demanding process requirements than NNPB. The designers claim it reduces settle wave and gives uniform glass distribution, while eliminating the technical problems associated with ex-vacuum blank assist systems. They also say that it gives greater lightweighting capability. Sklostroj supplies glassmakers with a wide range of equipment and services. Glass Technology International is part of Fuchs Lubricants.
