New Applications Of Plasmachemical Glass Deposition In Fibre Preform Technology

Hydrogen-free plasmachemical vapour deposition offers new prospects to the optical fibre preform synthesis. The SPCVD-process has been applied to the fabrication of erbium-activated optical fibres with an increased concentration of the activator. A new fibre type, nitrogen-doped silica core fibre, has been obtained.
