Near-Surface Analysis Of Glasses Using Nuclear Techniques

Nuclear techniques have been used to determine the composition of the region near the surface in the case of several types of glass. Applications include the analysis of thin films, the concentration and profile of tin at the surface of float glass and surface contamination by heavy elements after mechanical polishing.
