SSV has performed numerous nanotechnological studies in several fields to improve the knowledge on subjects of interest to the international glass industry. Italian glass production (hollow, flat, artistic & technical glass) are based on well-known processes, which are normally regarded as technologically mature, without any special new advancement. Nevertheless, for particular purposes it may be necessary to employ sophisticated analyses & characterisation methods that require even nanotechnological investigations.
