Nanofilm Move Into Windshield Coating Market

Nanofilm Ltd is planning a move into the automotive market and has just launched a new product, Clarity Defender Auto Glass Treatment, which has been developed to repel rain, snow, mud, bugs, spray paint and most other liquids that could come in contact with a windshield. The product enters a market already occupied by similar products that sell for less than its US$14.95 retail price. PPG's Aquapel, sells at $4.50 and Sopus Products sells their version Rain X retails at $6.29, however, Clarity Defender means one application should last a whole year, compared to others which only last a few months. The windshield coating is Nanofilm's first product in the automotive market, though it has others coming through in 2005, including a coating for the inside of automotive glass for protection against fingerprints and smudges.
