Mp Pushes For Plastic In Pubs

The MP for Mansfield in central England, Alan Meale, tabled an early day motion in Parliament calling for pubs and clubs to serve alcohol only in plastic bottles and containers after 11pm. He said: "A glass pint jar or bottle can be used as a weapon and smashed glass can cause injuries, especially to women if they are dancing barefoot". "Plastic glasses and bottles have been used successfully during trials at football matches". "There have been complaints from the Campaign for Real Ale but the overriding concern should be for public safety".
