Penico Gauges reports continuing success with its range of dovetail cut-out reamers for blank and blow moulds. The reamers save expensive machine time in the repair and adjustment of mould cut-outs. What was previously a highly skilled machining operation becomes a bench repair job using the tools. There is also less likelihood of errors in the sizing of the dovetail fitting. It is reported that demand is shifting towards carbon-tipped reamers, which have longer lifespans and are essential for use with bronze moulds.
