Molybdenum In Glass Manufacturing

Because of its compatibility with many molten glass compositions, molybdenum has found applications in handling equipment, tooling and furnace construction. The main use for molybdenum is as electrodes for melting glass. Because glasses are electrically conductive when molten, molybdenum electrodes can be used to increase the energy input in conventionally fired furnaces, and thereby increase the throughput of the furnaces.
