Modernising And Upgrading Existing Plants

Pilkington awarded the contract for modernising its batch plant in Germany to Zippe. The contract was to renew the electronic control systems for the weighing lines for raw materials and cullet to three mixers, and the batch and cullet transport to both furnaces (850t/d & 750t/d). The control system for the raw material supply, the sand supply and storage, and the factory cullet recycling and its storage, also had to be renewed. This article outlines the work carried out by Zippe.
