For more than 80 years Zippe has been working exclusively for the glass industry in the fields of raw material, batch, and cullet handling. The production program consists of batch plants, batch chargers, glass level controllers,a and all kinds of internal and external recycling plants. This paper presents an overview of the stages of internal and external recycling techniques in the glass industry. Recycling of glass has a long tradition. For decades the remelting of a plant's own production waste was the state-of-the-art. In the last few years the proportion of ecology cullet for producing new glass has increased steadily. By using cullet as a raw material for glass production, expensive raw materials can be saved and energy consumption will be considerably lowered.
