Modern Automotive Glasses

Modern vehicle styles demand low cost glass of aesthetically pleasing body tint and outstanding solar control properties to keep passengers cool and reduce air conditioning load by blocking most of the Sun's energy, including damaging ultraviolet radiation. Solar control properties are particularly important as glass areas in vehicles increase. This paper looks at how glass manufacturers are attempting to provide attractive tints with the lowest possible ultraviolet and infrared transmissions.
