Liquidus temperature of nuclear waste glasses were modelled considering the problem of precipitation of crystalline phase in a continuous melter. 110 glass compositions were heated in temperature gradient furnace. Glasses were composed of oxides of Si, B, Na, Li, Ca, Mg, Fe, Al, and Zr. Nine glasses did not show crystallisation other than spinel. A multicomponent constraints model is applied to data. The model predicted possible primary phases with their liquidus temps. based on the input data. Regression of predicted liquidus temps.on measured liquidus temps.showed a poor linearity. A "spinel model" was also tested. It is held that none of these models is appropriate for glasses with large variation in the concentration of major components.
