Model-Based Control Of Glass Melting Furnaces And Forehearths: First Principles-Based Model Of Predictive Control System Design

This paper discusses model predictive control systems for glass manufacturing processes. A special tool suite consisting of first principle-based modeling tools, model reduction tools, state estimation techniques, and delta-mode model predictive control tools is being developed for model-based operation support of glass manufacturing processes. The tools are developed to support a wide range of processes in the container glass, flat glass, tableware, fibre, lighting glass and TV glass manufacturing industries.
