A Model Approach To Glass Melting Optimisation

Glass Service has developed in-house state-of-the-art advanced mathematical simulation models to optimise glass melting furnaces. The simulation models can also be used for forehearths, regenerators, tin baths, annealing lehrs and the forming process. This article demonstrates practical examples of how modelling can be used to optimise melting performance, showing how furnace models can be used to predict the glass quality as a function of changed energy profile, furnace dimensions and tonnage increase.
