Mixed Alkali Effect Of Electrical Conductivity In Glass-Forming Silicate Melts

Electrical conductances of nine melts in the soda-potassia-lime-silica system were measured at 50 K intervals between 900 and 1550 degrees C by applying a recently published, precise conductivity cell for molten glasses and salts. The mixed alkali effect is discussed in the light of the results obtained.
