The Mexican Glass Industry

With growth predicted until 1999, the Mexican glass industry appears to have recovered from the economic problems of 1994. Exports have been rising steadily over the last few years and a stable economy is creating the right conditions for re-stimulating local demand. The arrival of the French group Saint-Gobain illustrates the fact that foreign confidence is returning and Mexican Vitro's opening of its second float glass facility gives a clear indication that demand in the glass industry is on the rise.
