Method For The Manufacture Of Float Glass.

Float glass of simultaneously reduced width and thickness is manufactured on a bath of molten metal by interrelated control of the longitudinal temperature gradient and hence the viscosity gradient subsisting in the glass ribbon advancing along the bath, and of the tractive effort applied to the ribbon.
