Mechanical Test Methods For Ceramic Matrix Composites

The current state of mechanical test methodology for continuous fibre reinforced ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) is described and analysed based on comments made in the literature and on recent testing experience accumulated by the author. Topics covered include flexural, tensile, compressive, and shear testing, determination of elastic moduli and fracture toughness, extensometry and high temperature testing.
