The Mechanical Behaviour Of C-Frp Reinforced Glass Beams

Glass beams reinforced with FRP pultruded bars seem to be a promising technique to build transparent, robust, structural elements. Some composite C-FRP glass beams were built using common resins to glue FRP bars to glass and were tested under four-point bending. Both smooth and ribbed bars were used together with two different types of resins. Main experimental results are discussed, together with some considerations about thermal effects on the composite system.
