Measuring Energy Savings From Glass Treatment Film Installation Using Ipmvp Option C And Option D Methods

To provide more definitive evidence of the savings from the use of glass treatment film, CPFilms undertook a demonstration project to install film and then measure the resulting energy savings using two separate International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP) methods. In early 2002, CPFilms completed installation of 855 square meters of Llumar, Low-E solar-control and insulating glass treatment film on an eight-story building in Illinois. This article describes this demonstration project and the glass treatment film used, and provides a background on the IPMVP methods used to measure the resulting energy savings.
