A mathematical model of glass melt flux in channels and throats is presented. The mathematical procedure is briefly described. The glass flow velocity profile is considered laminar and it is the result of the combination of convective and pull movements. The glass velocity profile is strongly affected by the glass viscosity, the temperature and the type of channel (open, with free flow surface, or submerged, with friction all around the section perimeter). Some examples of glass flow simulation in different channel geometries with different pull rates are presented.
