[Markets] Horn Glass Industries: Market Outlook

This article describes recent developments in the glass industry, and how Horn is going to react to these changes. Basically, future prospects look good for the two main pillars of the industry, container glass and float glass. Global demand for glass will increase. In 2013, around 177M/tonnes of glass were produced (Glass Global Consulting GmbH). For the year 2016, a demand of around 200m/tonnes is predicted, corresponding to an annual increase in production of about 4.5%. In fact, sales of beverage bottles increased by around 4.4% in the first three quarters of 2014 (BV Glas).
