[Markets] Conservatories Set To Rise 24% Following 2005 Decline

The market for conservatories is expected to increase by 24% in volume terms between 2006-2010, says MSI Research. The market is forecast to be driven by Building Regs in terms of buildings' insulation, coupled with technological improvements in performance of materials such as glass for vertical glazing & special glass for roofing. These drivers are expected to improve the quality of conservatories installed between 2006-2010. The PVC-U market is expected to become a mature, leading to a growing interest in other frame materials. The market is also expected to be positively driven by the growing number of replacement of early installations of conservatories with better thermal & acoustic insulation properties in the next 5y. Sales in the non-residential sector are expected to have the biggest increase, driven by sales in the food & drink sector.
